Dow Wraps "London Bowl" with Light "Shell"

The London Olympic Stadium is shaped like a bowl and is therefore vividly called the London Bowl Stadium.

According to reports, the London Olympic Stadium recently found a new global partner, chemical giant Dow Chemical, and they will pay for the new decorative shell of the stadium.

The London Olympic Stadium is shaped like a bowl and is therefore vividly called the "London Bowl" gymnasium. The £500 million London Olympic Stadium will be covered with steel and concrete on 336 25-meter-high temporary vertical panels. The stadium, which can accommodate 8,000 spectators, will be completed in May this year.

Judging from the renderings published by the London Olympic Organizing Committee, the stadium enclosure is a design concept similar to white vertical blinds. A press spokesperson stated that the exact decorative design is still under discussion, but its outer casing will be allowed to be installed. Colored lights illuminate the entire stadium.

It is reported that Dow's high-performance plastics department is using a resin that is 35% lighter than conventional materials. The material of the housing also includes industrial recycled materials and environmentally-friendly inks.
